Archiving and Deposit Policy

This journal is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and discoverability of all published content. Authors are strongly encouraged to deposit and archive their work in trusted repositories to maximize visibility and safeguard scholarly record integrity.

1. Author Rights for Self-Archiving

Authors retain full copyright and are permitted to archive different versions of their manuscript without restriction:

1.1 Pre-print (Submitted Version)

  • Authors may deposit the original submitted manuscript at any time.
  • May be shared on personal websites, institutional repositories, and preprint servers.
  • No embargo period applies.

1.2 Post-print (Accepted Manuscript)

  • Authors may archive the peer-reviewed, accepted version immediately upon acceptance.
  • Must include a citation to the final published version once available.
  • Must indicate that it is the accepted manuscript version (not the final formatted version).

1.3 Published Version (Version of Record)

  • Authors may archive the final published PDF.
  • Must include full citation, DOI (if applicable), and link to the official journal version.
  • Must clearly acknowledge the journal as the original publisher.

2. Permitted Deposit Locations

Authors may deposit their work in a wide range of scholarly and non-commercial platforms, including:

  • Institutional repositories (universities, research institutions)
  • Subject-based repositories (discipline-specific archives)
  • National or regional repositories
  • Personal academic websites or professional profiles
  • Open access repositories and scholarly networks

Examples include platforms such as institutional DSpace systems, subject repositories, and recognized academic indexing services.

3. Embargo Policy

  • This journal applies no embargo period.
  • All versions of manuscripts may be deposited immediately upon submission, acceptance, or publication, depending on the version type.
  • Immediate dissemination is encouraged to support open science and knowledge sharing.

4. Long-Term Digital Preservation

To ensure permanent accessibility of published content, the journal supports multiple preservation strategies:

  • Participation in digital preservation networks such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and/or CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) where applicable
  • Regular backup of journal content in secure archival systems
  • Redundant storage across multiple servers and geographic locations
  • Use of standardized archival file formats (e.g., PDF/A where possible)

These systems ensure that content remains accessible even in the event of system failure, discontinuation, or migration of publishing platforms.

5. Metadata, Indexing, and Discoverability

Each published article is assigned complete and structured metadata to ensure visibility and interoperability across scholarly systems. This includes:

  • Author names and affiliations
  • Article title, abstract, and keywords
  • Publication date and journal issue details
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI), if assigned
  • Licensing information under Creative Commons
  • Reference and citation data in machine-readable formats

The journal actively supports indexing in academic databases and discovery services to enhance global reach and citation impact.

6. Version Control and Citation Integrity

To maintain clarity between manuscript versions:

  • Each version (pre-print, post-print, published version) must be clearly labeled.
  • The Version of Record is the definitive citable version.
  • Updates or corrections will be linked to the original article to preserve citation integrity.
  • Authors should always cite the final published version when available.

7. Compliance and License Alignment

All archiving, deposit, and redistribution activities must comply with the Creative Commons terms, which allow sharing and adaptation provided appropriate attribution is given and any changes are clearly indicated.
